The invention relates to nucleic acid fragments encoding 28 kDa GSTs of schistosomes, which fragments are characterised in that they comprise a sequence chosen from the group consisting of: - a sequence which encodes the 28 kDa GST of S. bovis, - a sequence which encodes the 28 kDa GST of S. haematobium, as well as to recombinant vectors and transformed microorganisms comprising the said nucleic acid fragments. The invention also encompasses polypeptides encoded by the said nucleic acid fragments, and their uses for the production of antigenic compositions, in particular vaccines.
