<p>Bone plate, especially for small bones, having two plate portions (11, 12) which are mounted to be longitudinally displaceable relative to each other and possess holes to receive bone screws, and having a toothed gear arrangement (26, 30) between the plate portions to adjust the relative position of the plate portions, mutually facing guide sections of the plate portions being guided for longitudinal displacement in a guide portion (10), at least one guide section possessing a rack, and a pinion being rotatably mounted in the guide portion, engaging with the rack and possessing engagement means for a turning tool.
