According to the invention, a mobile digging machine is extended by the inclusion of a device for rinsing the plant which has just been dug up in order to remove the adhering soil. This soil is returned to the land on site. The separation is carried out with the aid of a rinsing liquid. The mixture of soil and rinsing liquid is subjected to a separation treatment before it is returned to the land. A cyclone can be used as the separating device.
