Washing e.g. for washing machine or dishwasher (5) comprises using low temp. or cold water with low tension and two immersed electrodes (8) in place of the conventional heating element for activating the cleansing agent for washing even with initially cold water which are connected to a transformer (3) e.g. a piloted reluctance transformer giving supply (4) at voltage of 48 V and for isolating and decoupling the electrodes from the mains supply (1) and supplying thermal energy to heat water.
