PURPOSE:To provide a sintered magnet consisting of an iron-rare earth nitride and its proper manufacture. CONSTITUTION:Iron-rare earth alloy powder is united by metallurgical sintering in nitrided condition. The manufacture of sintered magnet is as follows: iron rare earth alloy powder being nitrided or not nitrided is sintered or sintered with nitriding under the nitric gas atmosphere at high pressure so as to prevent the dissociation of nitrogen after formation of a magnetic field. At this time, it will do to sinter the substance to be sintered so that the relative density may be 93% or more, and then, elevate pressure by supplying inert gas, and crush the blocked gas ports existing therein by compressing the sintered substance so as to make it compact. |
