The vehicle toy consists of a vehicle and a winding up frame for the vehicle with the vehicle having a flywheel and a gearing system and the winding up frame includes a starting ramp and a gear system which can be set into a turning motion by a lever. One gear wheel of the winding-up frame is in contact with a gear wheel on the vehicle so that the vehicle flywheel receives rotation energy through the operation of the lever thus making the vehicle run. The winding up frame is fitted with an inclined starting ramp, with the vehicle (7) locked to the frame through a locking link (16) until the flywheel of the vehicle (7) attains the desired amount of rotation energy and the vehicle is put in motion by the release of the locking link (1b, 1c).
