The present invention relates to a nut with a tapped shank as well as to an element such as a panel equipped with this nut. The nut (1) with a tapped shank (3) according to this invention comprises a base (2) with two opposite sides (5) which are folded in the same direction on the side of the base face including the tapped shank (3), these two folded-over sides (5) extending orthogonally to the remaining part of the base (2) and parallel to the tapped shank (3), and each including a cut-out tongue (6) allowing the nut to be fitted by pushing and clipping on to any element whatsoever such as a panel (P). This nut with a tapped shank may be mounted on any type of panel such as a metal sheet for example, without intervention of special tooling. <IMAGE>
