PURPOSE:To provide an emergency lighting device whereby a discharge lamp is not suddenly turned off even if a battery discharges to below a predetermined voltage value. CONSTITUTION:When a commercial AC power source E is not interrupted, a fluorescent lamp FL is lighted by the commercial AC power source E and a battery B is charged. When the commercial AC power source E is interrupted, relay contacts Ry1, Ry2, Ry3, Ry4 are switched to an inverter 3 and a relay contact Ry5 connects the battery B to the inverter 3. When a voltage detection means 6 recognizes the voltage of the battery B as being more than a predetermined value, the inverter 3 is forced to oscillate normally. When the voltage of the battery B is lowered, current flowing through a resistance R4 is bypassed like a pulse to a transistor Q3. The fluorescent lamp FL is caused to blink so as to inform that the end of discharging of the battery B approaches and to reduce the amount of electricity discharged from the battery B so as to extend the life of the battery. |
