The cup is filled with fuel, either liq., solid or pasty at room temp. The wick (4) can be of plaster, chalk, clay, cement, glass fibre, or their mixt. It can have a solid cylindrical or polygonal body with a point (5), enclosed in a metal bush with a lateral inlet for liq. or liquefied fuel. The tip protrudes for an adjustable length from the bush. The latter can be tubular and cut open, or formed by a rectangular piece of sheet metal bent into a tube or polygon with the edges close together. The wick can extend for the full length of the bush, protruding for part of its length into porous cladding inside it. USE/ADVANTAGE - For non-electric lighting,with constant flame,facility for fuel refilling,and repeated use.
