PURPOSE:To make up a plate for a spiral cell in an efficient manner, by inserting a belt-like plate into a separator consisting of thermoplastic resins being drawn in a U-shaped form, while cutting off the supefluous part in fusion after heat deposition of the separator. CONSTITUTION:A separator 2 consisting of a nonwoven fabric made of polypropylene, etc., is bent into a U-shaped form in which a beltlike plate 1 is wrapped and then the separator 2 is heat-deposited at a height portion commensurate to the width of the plate. Next, a superfluous part 2A of the separator 2 is heated and cut off in fusion whereby a spiral cell plate is formed up. Then, this plate is spirally rolled round the separator together with another beltlike plate and thus a plate group is made up. Accordingly, not only deposition speed can be easily uniformalized but also work efficiency can be sharply improved. |
