PURPOSE:To provide an elevator device driven by a linear motor with which the cost can be reduced, the dimension of a brake device can be reduced, and the weight can be reduced. CONSTITUTION:A cage 1 and a balance weight 4 are suspended in well bucket form by a rope laid on a pulley installed in the upper part of an elevator passage. The secondary conductor 7 of a linear motor is arranged, extending in the vertical direction perpendicularly to the wall of an elevator passage so as to pass through the near center of the balance weight 4. The primary coil 9 of the linear motor 1 is arranged at the near center of the balance weight 4 so as to nip the secondary conductor 7. Each brake device 10 is arranged at the lateral symmetrical positions of the balance weight 4. A guide rail 18 engaged with the brake device 10 is arranged on the wall of the elevator passage opposed to the brake device 10. |
