<p>PURPOSE:To perform smooth clutch engagement by providing an electrically insulated electrode plate on the side of the friction member of a hydraulic power unit facing a clutch disc, supplying electric current to the electrode plate and the clutch disc, and detecting the electrostatic capacity between both to compute that distance. CONSTITUTION:A clutch disc 11 and an electrode plate 60 are electrically connected, and are equivalently considered as an electric circuit 78 if regard the clutch disc 11 and the electrode plate 60 as a capacitor 76, and electric resistances of respective parts are considered as a resistance 79 by integrating them. Impedance (Z) of the electric circuit 78 is expressed by a formula consists of each value of resistance (R) of the resistance 79, frequency (omega) of a power supply device 62, and electrostatic capacity (C) of the capacitor 76, and the electrostatic capacity (C) is determined from the impedance (Z). The electrostatic capacity (C) is expressed by a formula consists of a dielectric constant (ES), electrode area (S) of the capacitor 76, and the distance (d) between electrodes, and the distance (d) between electrodes is obtained from the electrostatic capacity (C), and the position of the clutch disc 11 is found from the distance (d), thereby this device controls hydraulic pressure in response to the position and can engage the clutch smoothly.</p> |
