PURPOSE: To ensure stability, an odorless state and environmental safety by using anα-amino acid as a developer preservative optionally in combination with an N,N-dialkylhydroxylamine or an alkanolamine. CONSTITUTION: This photographic color developing compsn. contains an arom. prim. amine color developing agent and a developer preservative made practically of anα-amino acid or further contains a 2nd developer preservative selected from among alkanolamines and N,N-dialkylhydroxylamines. Since theα-amino acid is used, resistance to air oxidation can be imparted. Glycine and threonine especially attain superior protection of this color developing compsn. as developer preservatives. The action of theα-amino acid protecting this color developing compsn. as the 1st preservative is further improved by combination with the 2nd preservative.
