<p>Complexes having the general formula [(L)n Ir-A-Ir-(L)n]2+, wherein L is a binding ligand such as an olefin, A is an organic ligand such as pentamidine, and n is 1 or 2. The complexes provide a solution to the toxicity and limited activity problems of known antiparasitic drugs such as pentamidine alone.</p> |
