A sawblade with set teeth consists of a one-piece ceramic blade, the setting being formed by teeth (2) with cutting faces projecting at alternate sides beyond the blade faces. Pref. the ceramic is an oxide ceramic, esp. Al203 and/or Zr02. Prodn. of the sawblade involves (a) mixing and homogenising ceramic powder and a binder (pref. a thermoplastics or polyolefin-based binder); (b) injection moulding a green body; (c) removing the binder; and (d) sintering. ADVANTAGE - One-piece ceramic sawblades of complex geometry can be produced.
