PURPOSE:To facilitate the control of use frequency such as the number of prints at every user by providing a discrimination data input means, a means confirming inputted discrimination data and a means storing the data related to a use state at every discrimination data. CONSTITUTION:A image forming apparatus is started upon the reception of the commands or signals from a printer controller and the kinds of the received ones are discriminated at first. In the case of a printing command, the processing of the command is performed and, in the case of an ID command, the ID indicated by said command is stored in an ID memory buffer and, in the case of other command, the processing of said command is performed. In the case of the ID command, an engine CPU checks an augument and confirms the ID of a user on the basis of the value of the arugment. In this case, since the bit 7 of the arugment is set to '0' ID can be confirmed by combinations from a bit 6 to a bit 0 on and after. |
