PURPOSE:An aqueous mixture containing a silica source, alumina source, alkali or alkaline earth metal source, pyridine and an oxygen-containing organic compound in a specific molar proportion is allowed to react, thus giving a crystalline aluminosilicate of a specific structure, which is suitable for use as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous mixture is prepared by using (A) a silica source, (B) an alumina source, (C) an alkali or alkaline earth metal source, (D) a pyridine and (E) an oxygen-containing organic compound such as ethylene glycol at following molar ratios: A/B>=5, D/A=0.01-100, E/A=0.01-100, hydroxy ion/ A=0.001-0.5, water/A=5-1,000 and C/A=0.01-3. Then, the mixture is allowed to react at 100-300 deg.C to form a crystalline aluminosilicate with a composition of formula I [M is alkali metal or alkaline earth metal, hydrogen; n is valency of M; p, q are equation II, equation III] and a specific X-ray diffraction pattern. |
