PURPOSE:To detect the coordinates of an actual contact position on a coordinate detection panel in a short time by converting measured coordinates into corresponding contact coordinates according to a coordinate conversion table. CONSTITUTION:A contact coordinate detecting means 3 is equipped with the coordinate conversion table 30 showing the correspondence relation between the measured coordinates and contact coordinates, and the measured coordinates calculated by measuring the signal supplied from the coordinate detection panel 1a are converted by the coordinate conversion table 30 into the coordinates of the actual contact position on the coordinate detection panel 1a. Consequently, the coordinates of the actual contact position on the coordinate detection panel 1a are detected in a short time.
