PURPOSE:To execute a large screen display of a thin type, and also, of continuous high definition by providing an image forming means for a liquid crystal display image, containing an irradiating means, and an enlarging means for enlarging a formed image and projecting it onto a screen, on a liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:A display device 60 is constituted by combining four sets of projection type display devices, and in a housing 61, as for each projection type display device, a liquid crystal panel 52 is positioned on a light source 51 (backlight), and on the liquid crystal panel 52, an erect image forming means 53 formed by combining a graded index lens or a convex lens, etc., is positioned. Also, on the erect image forming means 53, a Fresnel lens 62 made of plastic is positioned as an enlarging means, and in front thereof, a screen 55 being a display part is arranged. In such a state, only a display image of the liquid crystal panel 52 is enlarged and projected continuously onto the screen 55. |
