PURPOSE:To regenerate carbonaceous resources by applying decomposition treatment to carbon dioxide. CONSTITUTION:Iron oxide is used as a catalyst raw material and the activation treatment of iron oxide, the decomposition treatment of carbon dioxide and the generation treatment of carbonaceous resource gas are performed. Iron oxide whose activity is lost by the decomposition treatment of carbon dioxide generating carbonaceous resource gas such as methane or methanol useful as resource energy gas is returned to the original iron oxide by the generation treatment of carbonaceous resource gas and this iron oxide is again subjected to activation treatment to be used in the decomposition treatment of carbon dioxide. As the heat required in the reaction, the waste heat of exhaust gas can be reutilized.
