PURPOSE:To display a smooth image even with simple constitution by processing data, read out of the image memory of a scan converter, by an interpolation circuit composed of two input-side and output-side switching circuit, a data holding circuit, and an averaging circuit. CONSTITUTION:The interpolation circuit 9 can be interposed between an image memory 6 and a display device 12. The interpolation circuit 9 consists of a latch circuit 92 which temporarily holds individual input data, the averaging circuit 93 which newly generates the mean data of two inputs, and the input-side switching circuit 91 and output-side switching circuit 94. The input-side switching circuit 91 switches the individual data from the image memory 6 between sides (a) and (b) alternately. The mean data of the output of the latch circuit 92 and the (b)-side output of the switching circuit 91 is outputted to the averaging circuit 93. The output-side switching circuit 94 switches the side (a) where the output of the latch circuit 92 is inputted and the side (b) where the output of the averaging circuit 93 is inputted alternately. |
