PURPOSE:To stably control direct clutch slips when the direct clutch turns into an disengaged condition by removing foreign matter on a valve actuated in connection with the thrust of a linear solenoid. CONSTITUTION:When a lock up clutch 32 is detected to have turned into an disengaged condition, foreign matter piling on inside a linear solenoid valve 52 and effecting its actuation is removed. In other words, foreign matter contained in hydraulic oil and piled on sliding portions of a spool valve of the linear solenoid valve 52 making a reciprocating drive is removed. Thus slip control of a lock up clutch becomes stable without the movement of the spool valve being effected because of foreign matter piling thereon and the output characteristic of the control pressure getting out of position. |
