The flexible printing plate (4) is fastened to the forme cylinder (1) of a rotary printing machine by clamping the edges of the printing plate in an axial groove (6) in the periphery of the cylinder. One end of the printing plate is gripped in a slot (13) formed between the side of a recess (8) in the groove (6) and a first clamping strip (10). The other end of the printing plate is folded over a second clamping strip (16) which is attached to a shaft (7) which is mounted in the groove. The shaft can be rotated about its axis to apply a clamping force to the second clamping strip. ADVANTAGE - Simple mfr. and operation, and low repair and maintenance cost.
