<p>PURPOSE:To comparatively simply implement edge emphasis when compressed picture data are decoded. CONSTITUTION:Picture data compressed by orthogonal transformation are read from a memory card 40 and decoded by a decoding section 31. The decoded data are expressed on a frequency axis and an edge emphasis circuit 40 is used for the decoding data on the frequency axis to implement edge emphasis. After the edge emphasis is implemented, a 2-dimension orthogonal inverse transformation circuit 33 decodes the decoded data into picture data on the time axis. Since the edge emphasis is applied to the data on the frequency axis, the processing is implemented comparatively simply.</p> |
