PURPOSE:To reduce DC output voltage supplied to load while reducing higher order harmonic component of input current from an AC power supply in a power supply device using a boosting type chopper. CONSTITUTION:An inductor L1 and an MOS transistor Q1 as a switching element are connected to the output end of a diode bridge DB rectifying an AC power supply AC in series, and in a power supply device connected to the MOS transistor Q1 in parallel and connected to a diode D1 and a smoothing condenser C1 in series, at least a device controlling the output of a period including peak value of supply voltage of the AC power supply AD is provided. According to the constitution, pressure resistance of the smoothing condenser C1 or other circuit element can be lowered and, at the same time, the peak value of current supped to the inductor L1 of a chopper circuit can be lowered, so that the inductor L1 is not so easily saturated, and the miniaturization of the power supply device can be made. |
