SPEED CONVERTER HAVING FAULT DETECTION FUNCTION

PURPOSE:To detect an occurrence of a fault in the speed converter converting a speed of an input data signal. CONSTITUTION:The converter is provided with a speed conversion circuit 101 converting a speed of plural strings of input data signals 1 and with an input vertical parity arithmetic operation circuit 102 outputting an input vertical parity signal 5 of the input data signal, and also an output vertical parity arithmetic operation circuit 105 outputting an output vertical parity signal 7 of an output data signal 2 subjected to speed conversion outputted from the speed conversion circuit 101 and with a fault detection circuit 103 comparing an output signal 6 resulting from converting the speed of the input vertical parity signal 5 with the output vertical parity signal 7 to detect a fault.
