<p>PURPOSE: To provide a peculiar advantage to a simplified and miniaturized device which efficiently produces a concentrated gaseous nitrogen product. CONSTITUTION: Composite oxygen selective desiccants comprising a carbon molecular sieve which is kinetically selective for the adsorption of oxygen over nitrogen and an agent for the sorption of water such as lithium chloride, lithium bromide, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, calcium nitrate, potassium fluoride and oxides of silicon, aluminum, calcium or barium are provided. Thus, water and carbon dioxide present in air can be removed during adsorptive separation of oxygen from nitrogen.</p> |
