The tool for cutting external screw threads consists of a housing with stepped internal diameters with the largest internal diameter receiving the thread cutting die (6). The cutting die is retained by a cover (5) which is fastened to the housing (4) by screws (10). The die is held in place by two or more screws (9) which are screwed into radially aligned tapped holes (4.3). The cover (5) is fitted with a bush (7) which forms a guide for the workpiece (8). ADVANTAGE - The die (6) can be changed to cut screw threads of different diameters.
