A water pump, in particular for use in the cooling circuit of an internal combustion engine for a car is provided with a housing with a liquid chamber in which there is a pump member. This is arranged on a pin which leads to outside the housing and is supported rotatably by a bearing structure with a stationary outer ring which is mounted on the housing. The liquid chamber is sealed with respect to the pin by means of a sealing unit which is provided with a first ring which is connected to the pin and a stationary second ring which is mounted on the outer ring of the bearing structure. These rings are provided with sealing surfaces which face towards one another, are at least approximately axial and bear against one another in a sealing manner, while the first ring is loaded towards the second ring by a resilient component. The first ring is arranged on the pin via an elastic damping and centring element which is located between the internal circumference of this ring and the external circumference of the pin and is distributed over the circumference of the pin.
