An animation drawing method capable of accurately simulating an actual machining operation even when a tool rest moves to another spindle for cutting or when a plurality of tool rests conduct cutting for a work on the same spindle. A drawable range of a tool rest is designated by a range designation command (G10) for setting the drawable range of the tool rest (S3, S4), and the drawable range of each tool rest is displayed on either the left half (13a) or right half (13b) of a display screen (13) depending on whether the operation position of each tool rest exists on the side of a first spindle (14) or a second spindle (16). In this way, a moving trajectory of a tool for effecting an actual machining operation and a cutting state of a work are accurately simulated and drawn.
