1. Flame-retardant compositions containing polyester resins, aluminium or magnesium hydroxide or basic magnesium carbonate, other antipyrenes, fillers, pigments, dyes and other additions, characterised in that per 100 weight parts of non-saturated polyester resin contains 50-100 weight parts of aluminium or magnesium hydroxide or basic magnesium carbonate, 5-20 weight parts of red phosphorus and optionally 0.5-1.5 weight parts of colloidal silica, however, the weight proportion of red phosphorus to aluminium or magnesium hydroxide or basic magnesium carbonate is maintained within the limits of 0.02-0.4.
