PURPOSE:To provide a lightweight safe air purifying agent having long use life and capable of developing sufficient removing capacity to low concn. contaminated gas. CONSTITUTION:In an air purifying agent wherein one or more kind of a chemical agent selected from acid, alkali, an oxidizing agent, a reducing agent and an antibacterial agent is supported on a pulp staple fiber-containing carrier, the pulp staple fiber-containing carrier pref. contains a hardly soluble inorg. powder and the pore volume thereof is pref. 0.5-2.0ml/g. This air purifying material is produced by adsorbing and supporting an aqueous solution of said chemical agent on the pulp staple fiber-containing carrier. |
