PURPOSE:To accurately control water injection quantity. CONSTITUTION:A fuel pump 70 to feed fuel with pressure, and a water pump 40 to feed water with pressure, and fuel injection nozzle 1 to inject the fuel and water fed by the fuel pump 70 and water pump 40 with pressure respectively to the combustion chamber of an engine are arranged. The water pump 40 comprises a positive displacement pump and finishes to pour a specified quantity of water in the fuel passage 22 of the fuel injection nozzle 1 at water pressure lower than the valve opening pressure of the fuel injection nozzle 1 before the time of fuel injection.
