The burner chamber (16) and mixer (12) for the fuel are contained in a pre-mixer burner chamber (10). This chamber is designed so that an acoustic pressure fluctuation arising in the premixer chamber at the burner chamber outlet (20) is superimposed in contra-phase on an entropy wave induced pressure fluctuation at a certain frequency to be damped. The speed of sound in the burner chamber or in the mixer is considered when designing the premixer burner chamber.
