An entire completion 258 along with control line 230, such as a fibre optic control line, is run into a wellbore in a single trip. A ball valve 260 is closed, pressurising interior of tubing 218 to set lower screen hanger packer 208. Valve 260 is opened to enable a tool to expand expandable screen section 264 of screen 211, then is closed. Circulating valve 262 is opened and wellbore fluid in the completion tubing 218 is displaced with a completion fluid, such as a lighter fluid or a thermal insulation fluid. Valve 262 is closed, and pressure build up in tubing 218 sets upper packer 212. The expandable sand screen may be replaced by a gravel pack system (270, Fig 25). |
