<p>PURPOSE:To readily obtain the subject high-purity compound by previously protecting one OH of an alkanediol with tetrahydropyranyl group, reacting the resultant substance with acryloyl chloride to give a new intermediate and eliminating the protecting group. CONSTITUTION:An alkanediol is reacted with tetrahydropyran to protect one OH of the dial with tetrahydropyranyl group. Then the resultant substance is reacted with acryloyl chloride to give a new hydroxyalkyl acrylate tetrahydropyranyl ether of formula I. Then, tetrahydropyranyl group of the protecting group is eliminated from the ether to give a hydroxyalkyl monoacrylate of formula II. By this method, the objective compound can be produced in an extremely high purity and efficiently. This method is effective for producing various polymers and copolymers provided with flexibility and hydrophilic nature in a diversified degree.</p> |
