PURPOSE: To provide a method for coding Chinese characters based on the shape of the characters by using only digits from 0 to 9 without necessitating any special training. CONSTITUTION: Total objective characters are divided into maximum of three units for each character, and classified into 10 kinds of 'integration type', 'two row type', 'three row type', 'two layer type', 'three layer type', 'erect wooden horse type', 'inverted wooden horse type', 'left turn wooden horse', 'right turn wooden horse', and 'special type' according to the number and array of the units. Then, the code of each unit is decided by the starting stroke form and ending stroke form of the unit constituting each character, the unit code is connected according to a preliminarily decided unit sequence, the code of the pertinent Chinese character is decided, and the code is inputted from a ten key pad. Thus, a character code can be prepared directly and easily from the shape of the character of the Chinese character, and the operation of a Chinese computer can be attained without necessitating any special training. |
