A precrystallizer comprises a tube through which a melt flows. A rotary-driven body within the tube contains radially projecting scrapers which scrape crystals from an inner wall of the tube. The scrapers are hollow and connected in series to conduct a flow of heating fluid. The scrapers are mounted to the rotary body by means of arms which are shaped to induce motion of the melt. |
