PURPOSE: To provide a method for using a strain gage capable of accurately and effectively measuring a compression stress at the compressing surface of a testpiece. CONSTITUTION: The method for using a strain gage having a glass support 9 having a thickness of 60 to 400μm and a resistance coating 8 covering the one surface of the support 9 comprises the step of fixing the gage 7 only to the compressing surface 6 of a testpiece 1 by adhering the gage 7 to the surface 6 of the testpiece 1 of the other surface of the support 9. |
