PURPOSE:To provide the optical recording medium having excellent repetitiveness in recording, reproducing and erasing of information by solving the problem of generation of pinholes as far as possible with the optical recording medium utilizing a reversible change of optical properties. CONSTITUTION:This optical recording medium has a recording layer 3 which is reversibly changed in the optical properties by means, such as light and heat, and has inorg. dielectric layers 2, 4 respectively on both front and rear surfaces thereof on a substrate. The recording and erasing or recording, reproducing and erasing of the information are executed by utilizing the reversible change of the optical properties of the recording material forming this recording layer 3. The coefft. of linear thermal expansion of the inorg. dielectric material of at least either of the inorg. dielectric layers 2, 4 laminated on the top and bottom of the recording layer 3 is <=2X10<-7>/ deg.C. |
