The micro-controller unit, e.g. a microcomputer or microprocessor, has the computer module (12) mounted on a circuit board. The computer typically has a ROM memory, RAM memory, CPU and I/O stages. A 6 pole plug connector (13) for connection of opto couplers has two series (14-16, 17-19) of contact bushes. A bidirectional I/O output connection (20) connects to one of the bushes (14) via an operational amplifier (21). A further direct convection is made to one of the other bushes (16).
