Moulding matter containing refractory fibres useful in the production of ablative parts, process for its manufacture and its applications.

Heat-curable moulding material containing refractory fibres, characterised in that it can be injection-moulded and is in the form of "flock" essentially consisting of 60 to 30 % by weight of solid fillers impregnated with 40 to 70 % by weight of heat-curable resin. This moulding material is obtained from a syrup of catalysed heat-curable resin, into which syrup solid fillers are introduced by mixing so as to produce a homogeneous impregnation of the latter, and the mixture is then compounded until a flock is obtained, which is dried at reduced pressure. Application to the manufacture, especially by injection moulding, of composite materials which can be employed in the manufacture of tactical missile engines, in particular of ablatable nozzles.
