Liq. aq.-based body cleansing agent comprises: (i) 5-34 wt.% one or more anionic (ii) 2.5-15 wt.% alkyl polyglycoside of formula (RO(R'O)tZx) (I); and (iii) 0.5-15 wt.% 8-18C alkyl monoglyceride. In (I) Z = reducing 5-6C saccharide gp.; R = 8-18C alkyl; R' = ethylenyl or propylenyl; t = 0-10; and x = 1-5. Pref. the anionic surfactant is mixt. comprising alpha-olefin sulphonate and succinic acid hemiester or its alkali salt (pref. an alkali salt of a monoalkyl ethyoxysulphosuccinate) in the wt. ratio of 1:1-3:1. The alkyl polyglycoside is a 9-11C alkyl polyglycoside whose degree of condensation (x) is less than 1.4. The agent contains 0.5-5.0 wt.% additional non-ionic surfactants, 0.5-10 wt.% amphoteric surfactant and 0.5-2.5 wt.% lauryl hydroxylsulphobetaine. USE/ADVANTAGE - The use of the compsn. in the prepn. of a liq. aq. based body cleansing agent is claimed. The agent is useful as bubble bath mixt., shower gel or hair shampoo.
