摘要 Abrasion-resistant, porous inorganic composite mouldings comprise (a) an inorganic highly porous filler; and (b) a matrix made of carbon. The mouldings are produced by (i) forming a homogeneous plastic compsn. from the filler (a) and a binder soln. and opt. pressing auxillary agent; (ii) moulding the plastic compsn.; and (iii) thermally treating the moulding after drying. The filler is made of oxide, silicate, zeolite, carbon or carbide in an amt. of 80-98 wt.%. The matrix is made of binder of carbonised carbon in an amt. of 2-20 wt.%. The binder is tar acid in an amt. of 3-30 wt.%. Polyalcohol, graphite or a wetting agent can be used as a pressing auxiliary agent. Thermal treatment is carried out at 200-350 deg.C in air and opt. 350-1200 deg.C in inert gas or vacuum. USE/ADVANTAGE - The mouldings can be used as adsorbents, catalysts and catalyst carriers for selective material removal and conversion. They have high strength and porosity
