PURPOSE:To simplify and miniature a device for automatically cutting and peeling off a wampus (protecting device) with which the outer surface of rolled paper is covered, in a printing firm, by elevatably disposing a wampus peel-off part supporting device in the cutting and peeling-off device, and by positioning a wampus peel-off device on the roller paper side. CONSTITUTION:When a conveying bogie 9 carrying thereon roller paper D comes to a stop at a predetermined position, a lift 9a is lowered so as to set the roller paper D on wind-up support rollers 11, 11. An elevating motor 14 in a wampus peel-off part supporting device 3 is driven to lower a support frame 13 so as to lower the wampus peel-off device 4, a foot member 20 or the like, a roller 20c of the foot member 20 making contact with the outer surface of the roller paper D. In this phase, a cylinder 20a is operated so as to adjust the extension of the foot member 20 in accordance with the outer diameter or the like of the roller paper D. Thereafter, after the crosswise position of the wampus peel-off device 4 is adjusted, a gap is formed between the roller paper and a wampus by a gap forming unit 5, and then the wampus is cut at a high speed by a cutter unit 6. |
