An amide compound represented by general formula (I), a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof, an optical isomer thereof, and a use thereof as a medicine containing the same as an active ingredient. In formula (I) R<1>, R<2>, R<4>, R<5> and R<6> represent each hydrogen, lower alkyl, etc.; R<3>, R<7>, R<8> and R<9> represent each hydrogen, alkyl, etc.; m represents 1, etc.; n represents 1, etc.; and ring A represents a benzene ring, etc. The compound has not only a D2 receptor blocking action but also affinity for serotonin 1A(5-HT1A) receptor and/or serotonin 2(5-HT2) receptor, so that it is remarkably efficacious in ameliorating not only the positive symptom of a schizophrenic but also the negative symptom thereof, and is also useful as a remedy for schizophrenia with extremely reduced sideeffects and a remedy for psychosomatic disease, anxiety neurosis and various diseases accompanying the same.
