摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic recording medium, in which adhesive strength of a lubricant with a ferromagnetic metallic thin film is kept with a carbon protective layer and coefficient of friction is decreased and still property is improved in high level. CONSTITUTION:The lubricant layer 4b is constituted by applying a lubricant on the carbon protective layer 3 obtained by the plasma CVD method on the ferromagnetic metallic thin film 2 formed by the vacuum film forming method on a substrate 1. In this case, an organic compound having at least equal to above one side chain, having a linear saturated or unsaturated fluoroalkyl group or linear saturated or unsaturated alkyl group in molecular terminal, and having >=2 ester bonding in the molecule is used as the lubricant used for the lubricant layer 4b.
