<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the processing time by applying parallel or time division to processing of compressed picture data read out of a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A quantization basic table for a luminance signal and a color difference signal among compressed picture data read out of a recording medium is respectively stored in registers 10, 11 and quantization data of the luminance signal are stored in a register 12. A decoding circuit 14 applies decoding processing to data fed from the register 12 and the color difference signal read out of the recording medium in parallel and in time division while a Huffman table 15 is refered to. The signal subjected to decoding processing and a quantization table corresponding to the signal are fed to an inverse quantization circuit 16, in which they are multiplied and the result is outputted.</p> |
