<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate the danger of erroneous inputs without operation/input of coordinates by detecting damage when it is in the conductive layer of a touch panel at the touch coordinate input device in an electrostatic capacity system, and stopping following scan when there is the damage. CONSTITUTION:This touch coordinate input device is equipped with a touch panel 1 mutually insulating and juxtaposing rectangular touch panel elements 11, touch panel scanning means 6a and 6b to successively turn these respective touch panel elements 11 to the conductive state, measuring direction switching means A to switch a measuring direction during the respective conducting periods of the touch panel elements 11, impedance measuring means B to measure the respective impedances of the touch panel elements each time this measuring direction switching means switches the measuring direction, and touch panel damage presence/absence judging means F to judge whether the touch panel elements are damaged or not each time this impedance measuring means is operated.</p> |
