The invention relates to a baby sling by means of which a baby can be carried sideways with complete safety without restricting its field of view and without any risk of impeding the blood circulation in its legs, while not being uncomfortable for the person carrying the baby. It consists of a pouch (A) having a bottom and three sides; one of the lateral faces of the pouch has an opening (6) next to a suitable cut-away portion (7) through which the baby's legs are passed. It has straps (B) which are broad as they pass over the shoulders of the wearer, are adjustable for length and are permanently connected to the arms of the belt (C) behind the back of the wearer. The belt is secured at waist level behind the back by a safety fastener. The baby sling according to the invention is designed to be reversible. <IMAGE>
